The 2022 F1 season was off to the races with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday. Red Bull and Mercedes AMG might have been the darlings of the 2021 season, but for the first race of 2022, Scuderia Ferrari took center stage.
1. Winning matters
Ferrari sealed the one and two spots at Bahrain Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc winning and teammate Carlos Sainz placing second. Ferrari’s social following increased 352% from March 18-21, 2022, compared to F1’s opening weekend, March 26-29, 2021.

Bahrain Grand Prix winner and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc saw his Instagram account grow by 4% or more than 250K followers from March 18 – March 21, 2022.

3. It’s all about video views
F1 teams’ video views from Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 increased 111% compared to Bahrain Grand Prix 2021.

4. Shell & Banco Santander see green
Ferrari’s front of jersey sponsors Shell and Banco Santander drove 16% of the total sponsorship dollars for F1 and teams during Bahrain’s Grand Prix on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

5. Race day matters
As of March 23, 2022, 18% of F1’s March engagements came during Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Ferrari saw even better results – 26% of the team’s March engagements were driven on Sunday, big thanks to their race victory.
