Jersey Sponsor Overview: 2022/2023 LaLiga Season

A couple of weeks ago, we did an overview of Premier League front of jersey, sleeve, and kit supplier sponsors. Now we travel to Spain to meet the sponsors of the kits of the LaLiga Santander 2022/23 teams.

The first division clubs of Spanish football see a variety of brands, from global companies that partner with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona to local companies such as Pamesa Cerámica, the main sponsor of Villarreal CF.

The variety of brands is seen in LaLiga kit suppliers, as 10 different brands sponsor teams. This season, Castore debuts as the kit supplier of Sevilla FC and UD Almería. Castore also 

LaLiga Santander Jersey Sponsors

Of the 20 teams in LaLiga Santander, four financial companies are front of jersey sponsor. The rest of the teams have a wide range of sponsors, from beer companies, telecommunications to pet food. 

The 2022/2023 season will be the last season we see Cazoo, the main sponsor of Real Sociedad and Valencia CF kits; the British online car seller announced they are ceasing activities in Europe to focus on the UK. 

LaLiga Santander Sleeve Sponsors

Twelve of the 20 teams have sleeve sponsors. One sponsorship to call out is Real Sociedad, who have different brands on their sleeves depending on the competition: for LaLiga games Reale, an insurance company, is on the sleeve; and in Europa League games, Finetwork, a telecomm company, is on the sleeve. Finetwork also sponsors Real Betis and the Spanish national football team. 

LaLiga Back of Jersey Sponsors

Like sleeve sponsors, not all LaLiga Santander teams have sponsors on the back of their kits. Twelve of the 20 LaLiga Santander teams have a sponsor on the back of their jerseys, five of which are financial companies. 

Several teams opt for social causes on the back of the jersey. After 16 years, FC Barcelona changed from UNICEF to ACNUR-UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). 

Sevilla FC asked its fans which social cause they wanted to see on their kit this season. In partnership with Socios.com, the club’s Fan Token Partner, three social causes were most voted on by Sevilla fans: ANDEX (Andalusian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer), Seville Food Bank Foundation, and the Seville Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center for the promotion of blood donation.

LaLiga Kit Supplier Sponsors

Kit supplier giants such as Nike and Adidas dominate the Spanish market, as is also the case in the Premier League. These two companies sponsor 40% of LaLiga Santander kits. Joma and Kelme are the only Spanish sportswear brands on the list.
