2022/23 NHL Jersey Patch Sponsorships
After exploring the 2022-23 jersey sponsorships of the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and NBA, we turn our attention to the ice for a new season of hockey.
For the first time ever, NHL teams can sell jersey patch sponsorships (on their game jerseys). Currently, fans see 11 teams sporting jersey patch sponsors this season, along with NHL teams using helmet sponsorships.
The NHL sees a variety of brands, from global companies in finance and healthcare to more endemic and regional brands that capture the personality (plus mission and values) of teams.
Inaugural NHL Jersey Patch Sponsorships
The 2022-23 season marks the inaugural season of NHL jersey sponsors. Of the 32 teams in the NHL, 11 teams have announced jersey patch partnerships. As other leagues in the United States embrace jersey sponsors, such as the NBA (and with rumors swirling around MLB), this is a great opportunity for hockey teams to work with current sponsors or partner with new brands.
The top jersey sponsor industries (at the time of this blog) were betting/gambling (three brands), followed by healthcare (two brands) and financial (two brands). The rest of the teams have a wide range of sponsors, from cyber security, food, beverage (non-alcoholic), insurance, and automotive aftermarket.

Look through the 11 NHL teams sporting jersey sponsorships below. We also put together a playlist of posts from Blinkfire highlighting brand exposure plus asset and scene detection.
